INGREDIENTS: 2 cups basmati rice 4 cups water ¼ cup desi ghee ½ cup fresh green peas 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) Salt to taste
METHOD:
1 Soak the rice in water for 45 minutes.
2 Heat desi ghee in a dekchi, add jeera. once the jeera starts spluttering add the green peas, cook for some time.
3 Add rice and fry for few minutes till the rice is done, add water and a pinch of yellow food color, and add salt to taste, cover the dekchi with lid and cook on medium heat for some time, when the bubbles start, simmer it and cook till water is absorbed and the rice is done
4 Serve hot serve with cucumber raita and chutney.
