INGREDIENTS
FOR DAL 1 cup toor dal 2 tomatoes (chopped)
½ cup groundnuts (boiled)
1”x1 ginger finely sliced
4-5 green chilies chopped
5-6 curry leaves
2 tbsp jaggery ¼ cup pulp tamarind1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tsp red chili powder, ½ tsp turmeric powder ¼ tsp asafetida powder ¼ cup coriander leaves finely chopped
2 tbsp desi ghee, 1 tbsp oil Salt to taste FOR DHOKLI 2 cup wheat flour, ½ cup besan,
1 tsp cumin powder, ¼ tsp asafetida powder,
¼ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp red chili powder ¼ cup milk, ¼ cup oil Salt to taste
METHOD
1 Add all the ingredients required for dough in a bowl, add milk and 1 tsp ghee, knead it to make dough, keep aside.
2 Now heat oil in a kadhai and put cumin seeds into it. Let it splutter, add asafetida powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder and dal into the oil, fry them for a minute, add ginger, green chilies and salt to taste, fry them for a minute,
3 Add, ginger, green chilies, curry leaves, tomatoes, boiled groundnuts, jiggery, tamarind, water and salt to taste, cook it on low flame.
4 now roll out chapattis of the dough.
5 Add little desi ghee in to the dal to enhance the taste, garnish it with chopped coriander leaves
6 Serve the dal dhokli with chapati
